This 150 year old detached stone villa stands in 4000 sqm grounds surrounded by trees and beautiful countryside in the tiny rural hamlet of Kastri, some 16 km from Panormo and 35 km from Rethymno. This beautifully restored country villa (120sqm) with the wonderfully positioned swimming pool can accommodate 8-10 people.
At the front of the house, there are charming stone split level sun terraces and an old stone oven, which you can use to cook in. Leading off a beautiful veranda, to the upper level of the villa is a living room with parquet flooring, traditional old Cretan furniture, and two sofa beds. There is an old farmhouse style kitchen with dining table and a huge stone fireplace.
On this floor there is also a bedroom with a double bed and a shower/WC and the large outdoor veranda offers magnificent views. On the ground floor there are 3 bedrooms, two bedrooms with a double bed and one bedroom with twin beds, all with stone walls and furnished with old traditional wooden furniture. Further to this, there is a shower/WC, and a utility room with a washing machine. The villa has a card phone and in the gardens there is a roofed over barbecue area with wooden benches and a table for dining al fresco.
The nearest shops can be found in the little mountain village of Agios Mamas, approximately 1,5 km away, and a bank, post office, cafes, shops and tavernas can be found 10 km away in Perama. Car hire is highly recommended.
