Villa Melitta is a luxurious private 2-storey house, quietly positioned in the traditional village of Melidoni, some 10 km from Bali and 60 km west of Heraklion. The village of Melidoni with its historical atmosphere is well known for its impressive cave named “Gerontospilios”. The house is surrounded by large grounds of 4000sqm mostly with olive and orange trees, colorful flowers and a small garden with vegetables that can be used by guests. This 200sqm villa is suitable for 8-10 people.
The pool
There is a 60sqm swimming pool with children’s pool surrounded by sun beds and umbrellas. Also a built-in barbeque with traditional oven and a large stone table with wooden benches create a perfect private setting for relaxing and dining al fresco.
Description & facilities
The house is designed in traditional Cretan style with high-beamed ceilings and furnished to a comfortable, high standard.
On the ground floor there is a spacious open plan living/dining area with open stone fireplace, TV and one built in sofa bed along with a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher. Next there are two bedrooms, one with double bed and en suite bathroom with bath/WC, the other with twin beds.
Further on this floor are a shower/WC, and a small utility room with washing machine, ironing board and iron. A marble staircase leads to the upper floor where there is a large living area with a sofa bed, TV, and two more bedrooms, one with twin beds, the other with a four poster double bed and en suite bathroom.
Further there is a shower/WC, and a lobby area with small refrigerator and wash hand basin, also two large verandas one having views over the pool and countryside, the other faces the rear gardens.
Other facilities include stereo, central heating (at an extra charge), and two bicycles.
The nearest beach can be found at Bali. Tavernas, kafenions, a mini-market and bakery can all be found in Melidoni. The village of Perama 4 km away offers a larger variety of shops and tavernas. We do therefore recommend a car.
