Accommodation in Cyclades islands by getaways2

What a wonderful island complex; a must on your visit to Greece! A great variety of landscape, culture and people, not only between the islands but also between the villages of the sane island. An island for every taste and an island complex for those who want to explore it within a very short time.

Landscape varies from dark brown-red volcanic to green fertile valleys and from white sand beaches to mountainous villages. Islanders have been involved in tourism only lately in most Cycladic islands, except of course in Mykonos and Santorini. So, in most of them accommodation units are quite new and in excellent condition.

In the islands of Paros, Mykonos and Santorini accommodation units include detached or semi-detached houses, ideal for families mainly. As for the other islands, it is very common to find studios apartments which include kitchenette (with basic equipment, suitable for light meals and snacks) and sometimes a fully equipped kitchen.

Most hotels, especially old ones, have fairly small rooms and even smaller bathrooms, suitable however for a couple or for small families (with very young children). New hotels, however, have increased room space significantly.

Many of the accommodation units in the Cycladic islands are small (up to 10 rooms) and fully run by the owners. This sometimes results in lack of professionalism which may result in serious miscommunication problems between the owners and the clients.

When to book
When it comes to low season accommodation is quite easy to find, especially for those who do nto have great expectations. Most islands, however, especially those closer to Athens, are very busy during the weekends. So, don't be surprised if during your visit in May or early June you cannot find a place to stay.

Things are definately more difficult when it comes to bookings of of high season, that is July and August for all islands plus September for Mykonos and Santorini. Make sure you book as early as possible and do this at the same time you book your plane or ferry tickets or you may end up having nowhere to stay or having no means to get there.

What we can do for you

Having seen all hotels included, having talked to the owners in person, having written down all facilities & features of every accommodation unit, Getaways2 can offer a trouble free information centre with fast access to all data required by you to help you book the suitable accommodation.
