This A-Class complex is perched on the edge of the cliff
in Ia and has been converted from old dwellings, wineries and stables,
faithfully recreating Santorini's traditional local character. The
land and ruins were acquired by the Psychas family between the late
1960's and 1980's. The cave houses are two to three hundred years
old, having belonged originally to indigenous fishermen and agricultural
workers.
The property has a breath-taking view of the Volcano and the Caldera for which Santorini is renowned. A sculptured fresh-water swimming pool and terrace bar complete the relaxing atmosphere.
Due to the cliffside construction of the property (and especially the pool area), bookings for children under 16 years of age are not accepted.
No effort has been spared in preserving the traditional aesthetics of the caves, while interior bathrooms and comforts to serve modern needs and desires have been added.
Several of our seventeen houses were once wineries and stables, and in these, the original vats and mangers have been carefully preserved. Each cave house is unique in shape and character, while preserving the local architecture.
Furnished in Cycladic style and decorated with antiques from the Aegean Islands, the Perivolas houses feature vaulted ceilings, one or two rooms with sitting area, domed bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchenette, air-conditioning, direct dial telephone and private terrace area with sea view. A healthy buffet breakfast is served at the poolside bar daily and cafe style lunches and cocktails are also available.
