Accommodation in Sporades islands by getaways2

The Sporades islands' complex consists of islands among the greenest in Greece resulting in a usually mild and cool summer with a few rainfalls during May and October. Pine trees are dominant in all four of them but vegetation is very richand varies, depending on the island and the distance from the sea shore.

Apart from a great variety of hotels and pensions, all four islands offer a large number of detached or semi-detached houses, many of which have been built only lately. Apart from that, visitors will enjoy staying in traditional island cottages, some being in the mountains hidden in a dense forest and some others being very close to the beach.

Most houses can accommodate 4 to 6 people while only a few are suitable for 8 people or more. Staying in a villa may initially seem like an expensive solution. However, this solution saves quite a lot of money as visitors tend to stay indoors and enjoy their lunch or dinner rather than having to go out even to have a coffee. There is nothing better than enjoying a meal or a snack by the pool with a magnificent view away from the crowd.

When to book
If you are the type of tourist who just wants a bed and a wc/shower then you may want to wait till you get to the port till you decide where you want to stay, and only for low and middle season. For high season things get pretty difficult as it is very likely that you won't find any room or vehicle to rent all over the island.

If you are the kind of tourist who wants to have a say on where to stay and arrange for a safe and well planned trip then you should definately book early enough, well ahead your arrival date when it comes to high season (July and August).
