Villa Hibiscus is, beyond doubt, one of the loveliest properties on the island of Alonissos. It is situated just a few minutes walk from the beautiful, peaceful cove and shingle beach of Agios Petros, where the clear blue water invites you for a swim.  The villa is built on the hillside and therefore has several levels of terraces and gardens including a beautiful swimming pool area. The one thing they all have in common is the panoramic views to the sea below. The villa itself has been built using local stone and only the best materials. The villa is spacious and very tastefully decorated and furnished throughout. The house has 2 bedrooms & 2 w/c shower in the main house - 1 sleeping room & 1 w/c shower in the studio.

INTERIOR
The Main House
The first impression entering this outstanding villa is one of quality and craftsmanship in every detail. The villa is mostly made from local materials of stone, bricks and carved wood. Its spacious rooms are decorated in a unique island style, from its weaved baskets and old tools hanging from the open wooden beams to the local handicrafts displayed in niches in the stone walls. All is tasteful, homey and has a decorator's touch in its detail. The main entrance leads into a spacious living room with comfortable sitting area and large dining table.

The back wall of the living room is made entirely of stone and has a corner fireplace. The views from inside the room in two directions are of terraces and the sea beyond, but walking through the double French doors brings you to a space incomparable. This large stone terrace, furnished with dining table and comfortable seating, has fantastic views to the sea below. From this serenely peaceful spot, long hours can be spent watching boats ply the waters in the daytime, sunsets in the evening and twinkling lights silhouetting the island by night.

The kitchen has open access to the dining/living room and is the picture of a quaint, country kitchen, although fully equipped with modern amenities including a dishwasher. There is a small breakfast table and door leading to the terrace for the convenient serving of outdoor meals. There is also a w/c shower room on this level.

A few stone built steps from the living room leads to the upper floor landing with access to an elegant w/c accented in wood and fitted with a bathtub. On the same level and to one side of the bathroom, there is a bedroom with two single beds. This bedroom has open beamed ceilings and is tastefully furnished.

A double French door leads out to a terrace with the pool area on a terraced level above it. The opposite end of the hall leads to the master bedroom, again with open wood beamed ceilings and a beautiful old fashioned iron double bed. The antique furniture adds an elegant, country feel to the room. The double French doors lead to another terrace which has close access to the pool area and lovely sea views.

The Studio
Reached either by stone steps from the entrance or from the main terrace, this spacious studio is again decorated and tastefully furnished similar to the villa. This roomy studio is furnished with a double bed and has a small kitchen and w/c shower room. Like the villa above, its main feature is the immense covered terrace with a great outdoor dining table. Spend hours over long leisurely meals taken outdoors with these stunning views of the sea and hillsides stretching before you.

EXTERIOR
The villa is built on the hillside and has several levels of terraces and gardens divided by fantastic stone built walls. On the top terrace above the house is the swimming pool and pool area. On a slightly lower level to the side of the house is a dining area and BBQ with sweeping views to the cove and sea. A few steps further down again leads to the main house with the studio a level below. The common feature of all the terraces and levels are panoramic sea views from nearly everywhere on the property.

SURROUNDINGS
Its location above the shingle beach of Agios Petros allows for a dip in the sea only a few short minutes walk away. A foot path leading from the bottom of the property leads straight to the beach and a further walk of 15 minutes takes you over a hillside to the lovely little fishing village of Steni Vala. Steni Vala is approximately 1.5 km away and has a quaint waterfront lined with caiques and tavernas specialising in fresh local seafood. There is also a small supermarket and it is serviced by the local bus and taxis. From here you can also catch a water taxi to the spectacular beach of Agios Dimitrios.

Its size and spaciousness is perfect for several couples holidaying together who want privacy, but the fun of staying in one accommodation. It is also great for families and has the studio for nanny to stay and keep a watchful eye on the kids.
