This wonderful little cottage is in a perfectly secluded location, nestled among the trees on the hillside just above the beaches of Stafilos and Velanio. The cottage has stunning views toward the sea in the distance and our famous Skopelos sunsets. The private pool combined with lovely views and the close proximity of two of the islands best beaches, make this cottage the perfect choice for those who don’t want to venture far from home.

INTERIOR
This quaint country cottage has been lovingly refurbished by the grandson of the original owner who built it 110 years ago. Sitting and imagining what life was like then is part of the charm and atmosphere of the entire house and grounds. One enters into a living room with built in seating which can become a third bed if required. One stone wall has been restored in keeping with the original décor. A fully modern w/c shower room has also been added to this ground floor. The bedroom is reached by a stairway from the sitting room and has twin beds which are set up together. The bedroom feels light and spacious with open beamed ceilings and pine wood floors. The small balcony is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy the stunning views down to the pool, through the trees and to the sea beyond.The quaint country kitchen is reached by a separate entrance and has a lovely breakfast table surrounded by windows which create a light and airy space as if sitting outdoors. The simple kitchenette is well equipped for simple holiday meals and still has the original bread oven cleverly lighted to make it a feature of the room.

EXTERIOR
Michaels Country Cottage has lovely outdoor terraces which enjoy both sun and shade throughout the day. The built-in BBQ is perfect for holiday cooking and the tall trees that surround the house and pool contribute to the intimate feel of the grounds that blends so well with the nature. The location of the cottage, on the hillside above all other houses and buildings allows for a wonderfully, private atmosphere.

SURROUNDINGS
Situated on the hilltops above Stafilos Bay, Michaels Country Cottage is conveniently located for those who want to be close to all. The position of this property is ideal for parties that want to be within walking distance to beaches and tavernas. A small foot path which begins at the cottage links up with the main road down to the beaches of Stafilos and Velanio which are reached in about a 10 minute walk. Car hire is not essential since the bus stop is a 10minute walk away and the bus service is fairly regular. In the vicinity, there are two restaurants and a small mini market for essentials. Skopelos town with all of its amenities is approx. 4km away and can be reached by foot in approx 50 minutes along a little used dirt track. Please note** there is no local taxi service to this house due to the narrow, steep driveway. A mandatory escorted transfer fee of 30Euros will apply to all bookings not wishing to hire a car. Also please keep in mind that persons with walking difficulties or the unfit might find walking the steep uphill driveway challenging. In these cases, a hired car is highly recommended.

This quiet cottage set in the woods is a wonderful choice for those wanting to be close to amenities and as well as have plenty of privacy. The additional possibility of a 3rd bed in the living room makes it even a good choice for small families. The private pool gives it that extra luxury and allows for relaxing days without leaving the cottage at all.

SERVICES
Getaways2 provides (through our local representative) cleaning service and linen change twice a week, including arrival cleaning (excluding Sundays). Additional maid service can usually be arranged upon request and at an extra fee. Baby cots, high chairs and extra beds can also be arranged on request as well as welcome packs, flowers, champagne, etc. Please speak directly with our office staff for prices and availability.

Our representative's Service Office is located on the harbour front in Skopelos Town. A personal villa visit will be made the day following the arrival to answer any individual queries. The staff can help you arrange excursions & car hire, provide tips on what to see and do and let you know of any special events that might be happening during your stay. Our aim is to provide a highly personalised service to make your holiday with us an unforgettable experience.

In addition, a villa folder will be found in each accommodation, giving detailed information about the villa and the area including nearest shops, restaurants and beaches. The services are included in the rental cost.
