When to book
Summer season starts from early May and ends at the end of October. High season starts from the middle of July and ends towards the end of August, depending on the island of course. Unlike what happens in Cyclades, in the Ionian islands it is not common to see hotel owners fighting over who will get ferry passengers to stay in their hotel the moment they disembark. So, you may want to book well ahead in order to have a variety of hotels to choose from instead of searching for accommodation upon arrival.

During high season it is extremely hard to find last minute accommodation unless you are prepared to stay at no-name hotels not knowing what to expect. Early booking is essential for a trouble free holiday.
